Our hay prices have increased by $60,000 over the last year!
Our hay costs have doubled in the last year. A five week supply of hay has increased from $6,500 to over $12,000!
To reduce hay expenses, we have purchased 8 hay bale feeders. These reduce hay waste and save staff and volunteer time. In addition to the feeders, we have built roof tops to protect the hay from wet weather. We are ordering custom Nibblenet webbing to attach to the feeders to further eliminate waste.
This project has a current price tag of $32,000. but is an essential part of keeping hay costs to a manageable level.
